Sejong Elite — Privacy Policy

Sejong Elite is an offline-first Korean-language learning app. This policy explains what information the app handles and why. In short: there are no accounts, and your study data stays on your device.

1. Information stored on your device

• Your chosen interface language, settings, study progress, flashcard schedule, streaks, saved decks and exam results are stored in a local database on your device.
• This data is not uploaded to us. We do not operate a server that receives it. Uninstalling the app deletes it.

2. Advertising (Google AdMob)

The app shows ads served by Google AdMob (banner, app-open and rewarded ads). To serve and measure ads, Google and its partners may collect and process:

• the Android Advertising ID and device identifiers,
• IP address and approximate location derived from it,
• device and app information (model, OS version, app version, language),
• ad interaction and diagnostic data.

Ads may be personalised. Where required by law (European Economic Area, United Kingdom and similar regions) the app asks for your consent through Google's User Messaging Platform before requesting ads, and you can change your choice at any time under Me → Settings → Ad privacy choices. You can also reset or delete your advertising ID in Android settings (Settings → Privacy → Ads) and opt out of personalised ads there.

3. Notifications

Study reminders are scheduled locally on your device. No notification content is sent to us. You can turn them off in the app or in Android settings.

4. Optional AI tutor

By default the AI tutor works fully offline on your device. If a build of the app is configured with an online AI provider, the text you type into the tutor is sent to that provider to generate a reply. Do not enter personal information in the tutor.

5. Text-to-speech

Pronunciation uses the text-to-speech engine installed on your device. Text is processed by that engine according to its own policy.

6. Data sources

Dictionary data comes from Wiktionary via kaikki.org (CC BY-SA 4.0), word-frequency data from hermitdave/FrequencyWords (CC BY-SA 4.0), hanja stroke data from Make Me a Hanzi (Arphic Public License), and the interface font is Pretendard (SIL OFL 1.1). Machine translations of some content are produced with NLLB-200 and may contain errors.

7. Children

The app is intended for learners aged 13 and over (university students, professionals and exam candidates). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Sharing and security

We do not sell personal information. The only third party that receives data is Google through the AdMob SDK, as described above. Data on your device is protected by the Android app sandbox.

9. Your choices

• Change ad consent: Me → Settings → Ad privacy choices (where offered).
• Reset the advertising ID: Android Settings → Privacy → Ads.
• Delete all app data: uninstall the app or clear its storage in Android settings.

10. Changes and contact
